Persei District
The Persei District is a science and research district making up a third of the northern half of the planet. This area is known for having the largest artificial land mass in its hemisphere, Algola, surrounded by an artificial rings of land. This district, while being one of the biggest has the lowest population, only containing around 500,000 total residents, almost entirely living in the outer ring, Mirkaf.
Persei is the core district for studies in the field of the occult, being one of the few districts with the facilities to capture and contain Riftlings. It has, over its time established, become a hub for those with psychic potential, and those with aspirations to study [REDACTED]. Persei is made up of of Corvids, Mustelids, Procyonids, and Elephas, with a majority of Corvids.
Dimension Hopping
Dimension Hopping is a practice where a being moves between the atoms into parallel dimensions. Those who practice are referred to as Dimensionites, and in almost all cases either have psychic potential or a suit built specifically to allow for the splitting of dimensional fabric.
The training, studying, and dorming of Dimensionites is done in the FutureSight building on Algola, the central island of the Persei District. This is due to the strain the act of dimension hopping can have on a being's physical stability, especially after traveling to a dimension with drastically different levels of gravity, temperature, and/or atmospheric pressure.
Riftlings
Prior to the MME, the beings controlling the earth were known as humans, they lived when the planet still had naturally formed land. They are believed to be the main cause of the rapid evolution of everyday beings, and the rapid degradation of the world. These "humans" were not exempt from what they caused, evolving past the capabilities of their already advanced bodies until they lost them completely. Upon the loss of their bodies, they became what we now call Riftlings.
Riftlings are characterized as shambling figures that look like a silhouette of their former incarnations, covered in sharp edges and lacking features. In the event that you see one of these creatures, for the safety of yourself and others, evacuate the area in a calm fashion and contact FutureSight to contain and remove the riftling from the area. It is of great importance you do not panic or run in the presence of a Riftling, as these violent creatures are known to target those they believe see and/or fear them. If you or someone else has been harmed by a Riftling, head to your nearest medical center immediately to avoid side effects!
While Riftlings are considered the second most deadly creatures on the planet, they also contain a material vital for the powering and stabilizing of equipment used in cutting and sewing interdimensional fabric, and the harnessing and summoning of rifted familiars.
Mass Mutation Event
The Mass Mutation Event, also known as the MME, is the event that caused the existence of Riftlings and modern day Animalia. Not much is known of the exact date or cause of the MME, but it is speculated that it was caused by a mass scale chemical storm that infected the planet's water, causing a wave of global evolution.
FutureSight
FutureSight is an organization founded and located on Algola, Persei District. Their main goal is the preservation of all timelines, specializing in the training of Dimensionites and the handling of dangerous entities. Their containment facilities have a near guaranteed safety rate, with only a rare few reported escapes through their almost 2000 years in existence.
While being the core, and only, place one could go to learn advanced psychic techniques, study Rifted creatures and Riftlings, and study the dimensional fabric that connects dimensions, a speculated less that half a percent of the global population has the means, talents, and natural skill needed to work for them. While this number takes into account scientists and general staff, it doesn't take into account in training and fully trained Dimensionites, as those files are fully classified.
